ANDREWS – The county’s certified tax value could be in store for a larger hit than originally anticipated based on an estimate of less mineral value, according to a representative from Capital Appraisal Group who recently met with local officials.
Kenneth Hitt provided an overview of oil-related topics impacting the county’s mineral value during a meeting with Andrews County Appraisal District Chief Appraiser Susan Brewer and governing entity leaders.
A conservative estimate based on the price gauging oil value—coupled with lower production levels—revealed a 25- to 30 percent decrease in mineral value, according to Hitt.
