Already facing numerous new city regulations, game room operations here will soon be subject to similar restrictions and regulations by Dawson County.
Members of the Dawson County Commissioners Court on Tuesday unanimously approved countywide regulations for game rooms.
Although the regulations are effective today (April 7), County Judge Foy O’Brien said any game rooms already operating in Dawson County will have 22 days to comply with the new regulations.
Sheriff Matt Hogg, on hand for Tuesday’s meeting, voiced strong support for the regulations, saying games rooms often have been sites of various criminal activity.
