Jack Savage
Graveside service for Jack Savage, 89, of Lamesa was held at Dawson County Cemetery, April 3, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. with Randy Hardman officiating.
Visitation was held Friday, April 2, 2021 from 6:00- 7:00 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home.
Jack passed away March 31, 2021 in Tahoka, Texas.
He was born on July 19, 1931 in Jonesboro, LA to Smith and Eva Alley (Holsomback) Savage. He married Hily Kite July 16, 1949 in Lamesa, Texas. They were married 71 years.
He previously owned Jack’s Fuel Stop in Jonesboro, LA and Lamesa Butane. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gail where he taught Sunday school. He loved to go camping, fishing and was also a volunteer fireman. Jack never met a stranger and will be missed by all who knew him.
Jack is survived by his wife Hily Savage; daughter, Oouita Morris of Lamesa, TX.; grandchildren, Stacy Morris and wife April of Lamesa, TX. and Tina Boles and husband Sanford of Lamesa, TX.; sister, Vernell Watts; five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Bruce Savage; brothers, William “Bill” Savage and Verlon Savage; and son-in-law, Arlen Morris.
The family suggests memorials to Lynn County Hospital 2600 Lockwood, Tahoka, Texas 79373 or a charity of choice.
