As much as coaches across the state were stunned and upset last March when the University Interscholastic League pulled the plug on high school athletics in Texas, they were both excited and relieved when they brought them back this school year.
“It was all pretty hard to believe. It was all like a movie to a lot of us,” Lamesa ISD Athletic Director Gregg Moreland said.
“As hard as it was on all of us when they stopped everything we knew that it was one of those deals which we all were just going to have to deal with.”
