A year later, Ray Stephens easily remembers the day his father came into his office to tell Ray he didn’t feel good.
Ray and his dad, Shirley Stephens, for years worked just a few feet from each other in adjoining offices at their Lamesa accounting firm.
Ray and Shirley, both certified public accountants, represented the first two names in the family business of Stephens, Stephens and Telchik. The other partner and CPA, Kevin Telchik, was Shirley’s son-in-law.
