Jackie Gomez went from hard hat to dressing up when she took over the office manager job at the Lamesa Area Chamber of Commerce. Her first day on the job was March 8.
“I’ve lived here all my life I was raised here and I’m still here,” Gomez said.
She worked as a truck loader for U.S. Silica for 18 months before she was laid off last April due to COVID-19.
She then was employed as a delivery specialist for Truck Town Texas for abou six months before landing the Chamber job.
