The last time the Golden Tornadoes had someone competing in the boys state power lifting championships at Abilene, Bryan Quinteros came home as a state champion.
They’re hoping Charles Aynes will bring another state title home this coming weekend after the senior had a record-breaking performance at regionals.
“It would be nice to bring home some kind of jewelry but Charles knows that everything’s got to be on point,” Tornado Coach Mario Gonzales said.
“I can definitely see similarities between these two guys (Aynes and Quinteros) especially when it comes to their mind sets and work ethics.”
