As painful and frustrating as it was last year at the regional girls power lifting championships for Lamesa’s Jocelyn Marroquin, those tears turned into grins this past Saturday at Kermit.
After she just missed advancing as a sophomore, Marroquin punched her ticket to the state championships on Saturday as one of this region’s top lifters.
“Jocelyn’s been so close to getting there (state) three times. Last year she was only one spot out of making it to state,” said Coach Mario Gonzales.
