Lamesa City Council members Tuesday received prices Tuesday from a dozen companies interested in working on long-awaited improvements to the city’s water supply infrastructure.
The project will include construction of a new 14-million-gallon storage tank, a new pipeline from the city’s well field north of town, and construction of new pump stations and installation of generators.
“We’ve been working on this for about five years,” said Mayor Josh Stevens.
“This is our tank project we’ve been working on for a long time. It’s the biggest project Lamesa has ever seen.”
It is being funded through a combination grant and loan received from the U.S.
