According to Farm Service Agency records from 2020, Texas planted 185,828 acres of peanuts of all four types. Of these types, 41% were Runner, 29% were Virginia, 16% were Spanish, and 14% were Valencia. The Texas Plains region had the highest peanut acreage in the state with 151,388 acres.
