What began as an officer attempting to stop a vehicle in Borden County led to a high-speed chase which resulted in a man being arrested at gunpoint in a cotton field just outside Lamesa on Thursday evening. The man has been charged with evading arrest for detention with a motor vehicle, according to Borden County Sheriff Benny Allison.
