The Lamesa Area Chamber of Commerce’s first New Year’s fireworks display went off in a blast at around 11 p.m. last Thursday at the rodeo grounds.
Chamber officials had planned to postpone the event if it snowed. It didbut it did not stop the show from going on as planned.
“It was so pretty with the fireworks going off in the snow,” Chamber President Karen Mize said. “They said they could shoot in the snow so we went ahead with it.”
