The Dimmitt Bobcats were the pre-season favorite to win the District 3-3A boys hoop race.
But until Monday night – at the Golden Tornadoes’ expense – the Bobcats really didn’t look like the team coaches had been talking about going into this season.
After averaging only 45 points per game against a rugged non-district schedule, the Bobcats put up nearly twice that many points in an 80-40 win over Lamesa in their league opener at Dimmitt.
