It’s going to be a blue Christmas for Dawson County and mot area cities as the monthly sales tax rebates distributed by the Texas comptroller’s office continue to lag behind last year’s figures. Payments received earlier this month reflect sales made by businesses in October. Dawson County and the City of Lamesa experienced a decrease in revenue compared to last year. But they are not alone. Texas cities, counties, special interest districts and transit authorities saw their combined allocations drop by 2.51 percent.
