Mary Pesina

    Maria “Mary” Eloisa Pesina, 69, passed away Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020 in Lubbock.  
    She was born on January 23, 1951 in Lamesa to Francisco “Pancho” Samora and Jovita Linan Samora.  She married Jose G. Pesina on Aug. 22, 1969 in Lamesa.   She was a member of San Ramon Catholic Church in Woodrow.  
    Mary is survived by her husband of Lubbock; daughters, Josie Pesina of Lubbock and Leticia Cruz, both of Lubbock, and Sanona Chavez of Dallas; sons, Jose Pesina, Jr. and Frankie Pesina, both of Lubbock, and Alex Pesina of Slaton; her mother, Jovita Linan Samora of Lamesa; sisters, Luisa Rivas, Dolores Hernandez, and Martina Samora, all of Lamesa, and Brigida Kennedy of Bethany, OK; half-sister, Christina Rijos of Plainview; brother, Lupio “Pepe” Samora of Lubbock; 32 grandchildren, and 42 great grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her father; brother, Sampio “Pio” Samora; and grandson, Shay Kai Garcia.       
    Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. on Friday at the Venue on Broadway in Lubbock.  Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park in Woodrow.   Due to COVID restrictions, face masks and social distancing will be required.    
    Arrangements are being handled by Combest Family Funeral Homes in Lubbock.
