This Monday at 5 p.m. is the deadline for families to submit applications for assistance through the Lights of Love program, but donations will be accepted through the end of the week. Sponsored by the Dawson County Child Welfare Board, Lights of Love has been collecting donated unwrapped toys and cloth ing, along with any financial donations, for local children since about 1987 Right around Thanksgiving time, Lights of Love volunteers put out large tubs at local businesses, banks and the library.
