Lights of Love donors and even volunteers won’t see the faces of children they’re helping when they discover what Santa got them for Christmas.
That’s because children getting clothing and unwrapped toys are usually at school when Lights of Love volunteers hand out presents from Santa.
“The parents or guardians pick them up once we put them together for that family,” said Kathy Reeves, Dawson County Child Welfare Board member. “We bag them for that particular family and they come by and pick them up.”
Volunteers distribute the presents contained in black bags so neither they nor the children’s parents know what’s inside.
