COVID total passes 1,100

A week ago the total COVID-19 case count in Dawson County topped the 1,000 mark. Now it is over 1,100. With 19 new confirmed cases on Tuesday, the South Plains Public Health District (SPPHD) is reporting that 1,107 residents of Dawson County have now had the virus. That total includes 392 who currently are listed as active cases. The good news is that no new deaths among Dawson County residents as a result of COVID-19 are being reported by either the local health district or the Texas Department of State Health Services. The SPPHD website is showing nine Dawson County residents have died from COVID-19.
