Hortencia Rodriguez

    A Catholic funeral mass service will be celebrated for Hortencia G. Rodriguez, age 86, of Lamesa, TX.  will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2020, with limited seating at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Chacko Thadathil officiating. Burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. 
    Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home. Facial mask are required at the funeral home and church. Due to area Covid-19 situations we continue with public safety.
    Viewing and visitation will be held on Wednesday October 28, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home with a Rosary prayer service at 7:00 p.m. with Deacon Larry Salazar.
    Hortencia passed away on Sunday October 25, 2020 in Lamesa, TX. 
    She was born on May 12, 1934 in Ozona, TX. Hortencia married Jesus G. Rodriguez on January 15, 1955 in Lamesa, TX.
    She was preceded in death by her son, Carlos Rodriguez; her parents, Augustine and Candelaria Garza; her brother, Caesar Garza; and her sisters, Amparo Bautista, and Maria Villalobos.
    Hortencia was a devoted Catholic and a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an AVON sales representative for over 40 years. Her prayers will be missed by all.
    Hortencia is survived by her husband, Jesus G. Rodriguez of Lamesa, TX.; her sons, Jesus Rodriguez and wife, Guille of Midland, TX., and Chon Rodriguez and wife, Erin of Lamesa, TX.; 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren; numerous relatives and friends.
