Going into Friday night, all O’Donnell Coach Fernando Baeza had to do was remind his Eagles that Wellman-Union was the Division I District 4-1A leader based on already having two games in the win column.
Apparently Baeza had his Eagles’ attention. They took care of business in a big way, taming the Wildcats, 54-0, in a game stopped at the half on six-man football’s 45-point mercy rule.
Ranked 13th in the state in six-man Division I, the Eagles are now 7-1 overall and 2-0 in league play.
