Friday night’s six-man football showdown at Ackerly between 7-0 Klondike and 5-2 Sands is what high school sports is all about.
A win could all but guarantee a league title for one of the two schools. With the two schools only about 17 miles apart, it also is a rivalry game.
“Both of our schools’ kids spend a lot of time in Lamesa where they run into each other a lot. They do a pretty good job of keeping up with each other,” Sands Coach Steve Keith said.
