If you haven’t registered to vote in the Nov. 3 presidential, state and local elections, you better do it soon.
The deadline to register to participate in the upcoming elections ends Monday.
Sylvia Ortiz, voter registrar and county tax assessor/collector, receives about five new voter registration applications every day.
“At the moment, we’re still registering right now,” Ortiz said.
At last count, the county had 7,058 registered voters.
Voter applications arriving in Ortiz’ offce late, but postmarked by Oct. 5, will still be accepted as valid registration requests.
“If we get a voter application postmarked Oct. 5, it does count,” Ortiz said.
