Connie Chisum

    JAYTON – Connie Ann (Bowlin) Chisum, passed away September 14, 2020, in Jayton surrounded by her loving family.  
    Born May 6, 1947, in Lamesa, Texas, Connie was the daughter of the late O’Brien and Lovetta Bowlin.  She graduated from Sands High School and attended college at Howard College before receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Education at Texas Tech University.  Connie taught at various school districts (Sands, New Deal, Lubbock, Rotan, Jayton, Aspermont and Snyder) before her retirement.  She enjoyed 32 loving years with her devoted husband, Z.R. Chisum.
    Connie loved to watch hummingbirds, along with many other hobbies.  She will be forever remembered for her quick wit, laughter, and as a favorite teacher.  
    Survivors include her husband, Z.R. Chisum; children, Russ Shortes, and Danae Russell and husband, Michael; one sister, Diane Smith and husband, Kirk; and one stepson, Roy Chisum and wife, Christy, their children, Roy Chisum and wife Carla and their children and grandchildren.
