Vista Park, a planned housing development in the northwest part of town, garnered the Lamesa City Council’s approval Tuesday for a 100-percent tax abatement over a five year period.
The council also approved a development agreement for the project.
“Thank you for what you just did,” developer Ron Smith told council members after their vote. “You did a great service for Lamesa. You will have 110-percent from me doing what’s best for the community.”
