Calvin and Betty (Parrish) Smith were married on July 30, 1960 and celebrated 60 years of marriage this past July. A drive through celebration was held on July 31 at West Vickery Church of Christ in Fort Worth. Betty was born in Pampa and was raised in Fort Worth. Calvin was also raised in Fort Worth but born in Marshal. They met at church in 1958. Calvin and Betty were residents of Lamesa from 1964 to 2005.
