After more than 30 minutes of friendly discussion members of the Lamesa Cit Council voted preliminarily Tuesday evening to give local property owners a slight break on the tax rate this year. The council voted 5-2 to set the proposed tax rate at 82.4607 cents per $100 worth of property value, which is one cent lower than last year’s rate.
