Going south from Twin Falls, Idaho on US 93 the tourist happens upon Jackpot, Nev., which is no more than a casino and gas station. From there on scenery is fairly uniform. Sagebrush and limited grass in the valleys, 9,000- to 10,000-foot mountains on either side miles apart with pines on the upper reaches, and no ranches or houses around.
