After a major knee injury wiped out most of his junior season in football, Juan Barrioz helped the Golden Tornadoes put the hurt on the opposition.
It helped the 1998 Golden Tors end a 25-year playoff drought.
“After starting out at 1-19 in our high school football careers it was pretty cool how we still ended up,” Barrioz said, referring to one of the program’s biggest breakthrough seasons.
As the 2020 Golden Tors look to rebound from an 0-10 finish a year ago, Barrioz has a message for Coach Joseph Hood’s squad.
“It really only takes one to get something good started,” Barrioz said.
