Edward Menjares

    A Catholic funeral mass will be celebrated for Edward Menjares, age 84, of Lamesa at 2:00 p.m. on Friday June 19, 2020 with a limited gathering at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Joseph Kurumbel officiating. 
    Burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery.  
    Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
    Visitation and viewing will be held Thursday, June 18, 2020 at Gonzales Funeral Home with a Rosary prayer service starting at 7:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.     Edward passed away on Tuesday June 16, 2020 at his home in Lamesa surrounded by his family. 
    He was born on March 18, 1936 in San Antonio, TX.  Edward married Mary Gonzales on February 7, 1957 in Lamesa, TX.
    Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Rafael and Crisanta Minjarez; his brothers, Paul, Juan, Rogelio, and Otimio; his sister, Rafaella.
    Edward was always a hard worker. He enjoyed staying busy doing things around the house and yard work. He liked making people laugh and helping people. Edward loved his family and friends very much.
    Edward is survived by his family: his wife Mary Menjares of Lamesa; his daughters, Mary Sylvia Garcia of Lamesa, and Mary Ann Morales of Sacramento, California; his grandson, Paul Menjares of Lamesa; 7 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren; numerous relatives and friends.
