Everyone is being invited to participate in Lamesa’s Juneteenth celebration which will begin Friday and continue into Sunday.
The celebration will kick off at 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Forrest Park Pavilion. Activities for the evening will include a candle vigil, prayer and speaker, and a fish fry.
Activities on Saturday will shift to the Hollis Carver Park located near S.E. 14th St. and Canyon Ave. at the southeast corner of the city. Events beginning at 1 p.m. will include kickball, volleyball, a talent show, water slides and a cookout.
