With COVID-19 restrictions steadily being eased by Texas Governor Greg Abbott, cities have been faced with a decision on whether or not they should continue with plans for their Independence Day celebrations. The Lamesa Area Chamber of Commerce has announced that the 4th of July celebration here will run according to plan. Currently there are no restrictions or regulations by the state regarding the festivities, according to Chamber of Commerce President Karen Mize. “We will be following any COVID-19 regulations that may be implemented between now and the weekend of the 4th of July,” Mize said. The celebration is scheduled from 10 a.m.
