Due to the coronavirus pandemic, there haven’t been any youth sports of any kind in Lamesa and across most of the country since the middle of March.
That’s basically left Lamesa Cal Ripken Baseball President Rick Wallace feeling like a ‘two-strike hitter’ about the chances of playing ball this summer.
“We were sweating it out,” Wallace said.
That was until late Friday morning after a meeting with a city officials when Wallace and that league were given the green light to play this season under the newest state guidelines.
