The following were among the many calls received recently by the Lamesa Police Department: Monday, May 18 2:37 p.m. – The fire department was dispatched to a grass fire near the intersection of FM 1066 and Hwy. 137 a few miles south of Welch. 6:15 p.m. – A minor traffic accident involving a Ford Escape and a Chrysler 300 was reported at N. 10th St. and Dallas Ave. 6:44 p.m. – One person was arrested and taken to the county jail after police responded to a report of a man punching a female in the 700 block of N.
