One of Jose Lucio’s ultimate goals as the Golden Tornadoes’ new head tennis school is to help create players like he was during high school.
During his senior year at Lamesa High School in 2001, Lucio was a regional qualifier in tennis.
Lucio now finds himself having to wait to see if he’s going to have any players follow in his footsteps this year, as the District 3-4A Tennis Tournament was one of the sporting events put on hold due to COVID-19 pandemic. The top two finishers in each event at district advance to regionals.
