A fifth confirmed case of COVID-19 which was reported in Dawson County by local authorities Thursday morning may not wind up officially being considered a local case.
But, regardless, it certainly has impact here.
That because the latest individual confirmed with the virus, described as a female in her 50s, lives elsewhere but works in Lamesa and spends several nights a week here, according to county officials.
Her case likely will be officially counted as a case for the Texas panhandle county where her permanent residence is located, said Larry Duyck, who serves as the emergency management coordinator for Dawson County.
