Kathrine Josephine (Jo) Gresham
Kathrine Josephine (Jo) Gresham, 94, passed away on April 1, 2020 in Tyler, TX with her children by her side.
She was born on October 1, 1925 in Lamesa, TX to Edgar and Mamie McCulloch.
Mrs. Gresham is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Gene Gresham; her parents; her daughter, Kathrine Lackey; brother, W.H. McCulloch.
Mrs. Gresham is survived by her children: Edgar Gresham and wife Dallas of Athens, Elizabeth Hart and husband Nat of Chandler, Carl Gresham and wife Dee of Rowlett; grandchildren: Brandis Hancock and husband Mike of Burleson, Gene Jones and wife Sandy of Kansas, Christy Godwin and husband Scott of Oak Leaf, Jeremy Pope of North Richland Hills, Stephen Gresham and wife Erica of Jacksonville, Cynthia Pope of Kingwood, Misty Chumley and husband Bill of Kingwood, Katie Darnell and husband Manuel of Rhome, Matt Gresham and wife Gloria of Fate. She is survived by numerous great and great great-grandchildren of which she was so proud, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was lovingly known by her grandchildren as Mommo.
Mrs. Jo was a retired school teacher who loved to cook and make jewelry, especially beadwork, as well as sewing. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Athens and a proud lifetime member of the Athens Kiwanis Club.
Mrs. Gresham will be in state on Monday, April 6, 2020 from 8 am to 5 pm at Autry’s Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home. Private family graveside will be at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery in Tyler. A public memorial service will be held at a later date to honor her life
