Planning to step down in May after 24 years on the Lamesa City Council, Marie Briseno now will be serving for an additional six months. During a brief called meeting on Tuesday evening, the Lamesa City Council voted to delay the planned May election for the District 2 spot on the council until November. That election, with Fred Vera and Lydia Aguilar as the candidates, will now be held in conjunction with the general election on Nov. 3.
