Eight Golden Tornado athletes have been recognized among District 3-4A high school basketball’s cream of the crop: four making firstteam all-district and four earning honorable mention on both the boys and girls squads.
After finishing at 10-20 last year, the Lamesa High School girls rebounded with 18 wins and nearly making the playoffs this season.
Making first-team alldistrict were junior Emma Garcia and senior Jayli Hood.
Earning honorable mention on the all-district list were seniors J’Lynn Jackson and Madeline Poague. Also receiving honorable mention as 3-4A’s Newcomer of the Year were freshmen twin sisters Amaya Vasquez and Laila Vasquez.
