Although the threat of wildfire in Dawson County remains relatively low at this point, Lamesa Fire Chief Larry Duyck said he is somewhat nervous about the future.
Presenting his regular fire threat report to the Dawson County Commissioners Court on Tuesday, Duyck said little has changed in the past two weeks.
On a scale of 1 to 800, Dawson County currently is listed on the Keetch-Byram Drought Index at a relatively low 270.
That is an increase of 13 points from two weeks ago, Duyck said.
