Twenty-seven permits for new water wells scattered across the county were approved Wednesday by directors of the Mesa Underground Water Conservation District. Eighteen of those wells will be used for irrigation purposes, six to supply water for oilfield drilling activity, and three to provide water for livestock. Receiving permits for irrigation wells were: Ricky Schneider, six permits; Foy O’Brien, five; Blaine Middleton and George Boschman, two each; and Cedar Assets, Gene Hendon, Mark Furlow, one each.
