ANDREWS – Andrews County now has its first major solar project online. Duke Energy Renewables’ 100 megawatt Lapetus Solar project became operational last month. It consists of more than 340,000 panels on 800 acres in northwest Andrews County. A ribbon cutting ceremony was staged last week. It is Duke Energy’s second solar project in commercial operation and the first large-scale solar project in Andrews County, a press release stated.
