Dawson school board members agreed Monday to extend Layne Sheets’ contract as superintendent from a two-year to a three-year agreement. The action came after the board conducted an annual evaluation of the superintendent during their regular monthly meeting at the school in Welch. The evaluation was based on the superintendent performance goals which were developed during the board’s Team of Eight training last year. “The evaluation was very positive,” Sheets reported. “This is always a good opportunity to receive feedback from the board on the superintendent’s performance and direction.” The superintendent’s evaluation and contract were basically the only new items for action by the ...
