Water project nearly ready to start

Construction bids could be accepted by early summer on a water supply improvement project that City of Lamesa officials say will impact local residents for generations to come. Plans for the project, funded by a $12.55-million loan/grant from USDA Rural Development, are 99 percent complete, according to officials with the engineering firm developing those plans. “We are on the cusp.
