A $25,000 security safety grant received by the Klondike school district will be used mainly to fund construction of a wooden privacy fence around the school playground, according to Superintendent Steve McLaren.
That grant was among the items discussed by Klondike school board members during their regular meeting Thursday evening.
“We feel like it’s a little more secure than a chain link fence,” McLaren said of the wood fence that will take the place of the chain link fence currently surrounding the playground.
