The Sands Mustangs split their high school basketball doubleheader Monday evening at Ackerly against the Sudan Hornets.
Sands’ girls are now 18-3 on the year after knocking off Sudan, 40-29. The Mustang girls led 19-14 at the half.
“Our girls played outstanding defense again in this game. Holding a team as good as Sudan to only 29 points really is pretty good,” Sands Coach Ben Connell said.
“A big key in this game was the way that we held them to only one shot on nearly every possession. Our girls did a great job of blocking out and getting the rebound.”
