The Borden County Coyotes have returned from being the hunter to being the hunted all in a week’s time.
It was only a week ago when the Coyotes were 37-point underdogs going into last week’s second round match-up against then No.1 Balmorhea.
But after thumping the Bears (72-24), who finished both their 2016 and 2017 high school football seasons by playing for state at AT&T Stadium, the Coyotes have not only returned to that top spot in Division’s state I six-man football poll but they are big 22-point favorites against 11-1 Rankin come Saturday in the third round of the state playoffs.
