Harold Lester Parsons

    Funeral service for Harold Lester Parsons, 88, of Lamesa, will be held Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Northside Baptist Church with Pastor Dee Woolum officiating. 
    Interment will follow at Dawson County Cemetery under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. 
    Visitation will be held on Friday, November 29, 2019 from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home. 
    Harold passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2019 in Lubbock. 
    He was born December 31,1930 in Lamesa, Texas to Lester and Minnie (Stovall) Parsons. He married Jean Kelley June 3, 1950 in Lamesa, Texas. 
    Harold and Jean owned and operated Plainsmen Motel for many years. He loved spending time with family, motorcycle riding, dominoes, and hunting.
    Harold is survived by his children, Janis Dunlap and husband, Keith of Odessa, Marsha Ferrell of Lamesa and Rusty Parsons and wife, Carolyn of Salt Lake City, Utah; brothers, Gerald Parsons and wife, Nancy of Lamesa, Nelson Parsons and wife, Myrna of Lubbock; and brother-in-law, Charles Kelley and wife, Janice of Corinth, Texas; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and twelve nephews and nieces.
    He is preceded in death by his wife; parents; brothers, Maurice Parsons and Joe Parsons; and sister, Nelda Parsons.
