In an ongoing effort to determine potential costs for developing a larger county jail, the Dawson County Commissioners Court is now looking to contract with a construction manager.
At the recommendation of the local jail advisory committee, members of the commissioners court on Wednesday voted to issue a request for qualifications for a construction manager at risk.
“It’s not a recommendation to go forward with a new jail, remodel, or anything else; it’s to give us the numbers as we continue to study this,” Scott Myers, a representative of the jail study committee, told the commissioners court.
