A zoning change needed for a proposed new apartment complex at the southeast corner of Lamesa received final approval on a 5-1 vote of the City Council on Tuesday evening.
The action will allow apartments to be located in an area that previously has been zoned only for single-family homes.
Although a number of residents of the Hollis-Carver neighborhood had spoken out against the change before it was approved on first reading last month, none were on hand for Tuesday’s meeting.
