Pink Parson, Jr.
The pages of this book began for Pink Parson, Jr. when he was born to Pink, Sr. and Carlena Ross Parson on December 13, 1928 in Palestine, Anderson County, TX.
He attended school in the Blackfoot Public Schools and was in church at Providence Baptist Church in Montablet, Texas.
He moved to Lamesa in 1955 and worked for Morgan Franks Service Station, Key Energy and retired with Sam Stringer Drilling. He married Kathleen Hawkins in 1961.
Pink was led to Christ by Rev. Jackie Jerome Johnson, Sr. while at St. John Baptist Church, where Pink remained a faithful Deacon and worker until his passing.
He was proceeded in death by his daughter, Sharleen Preston; three brothers, Cleveland “Jake” Parson, Lee Arthur Parson, and Dan Chester Parson; two sisters, Luvenia Little and Berothia Jackson; and one grandson, Jon Paul Parson.
Pink Parson passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2019.
He leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Kathleen Parson of the home; one son, Phillip Paul Parson of Lamesa, TX; one daughter, Carlena Parson of Lubbock, TX; three sisters, Cleothia (Jim) Quigley of Lubbock, TX, Arnethia Jefferson of Arlington, TX; and Kathleen Anderson of Seagraves, TX; six grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, and number of other relatives and many friends.
Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at 1 p.m. at St. John Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Lamesa Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 19, 2019 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Griffin Mortuary.
